Sixteen Years, No Regrets
Today's Halloween, and the sixteenth anniversary of my wedding to Catherine Gatt. It's been a long, strange trip. We met online in a writing forum, spent two years emailing, chatting, and tying up phone lines before we finally met. A year later I proposed in the heat of the moment, and then repeated my proposal the next morning after I had slept it off. We've had our highs, our lows, and our in-betweens. We've had dry spells and torrid nights spent rediscovering each other as if we had just met. We've had money problems, health problems, problems with the in-laws. She was there for me when I published novels and did conventions and book signings. I was there for her when she fought cancer. We're still going strong, and I don't regret a moment of it.
