When You Don't See Me

When You Don't See Me is a reboot of my Starbreaker saga, but a sequel of sorts to my small-press novels Without Bloodshed and Silent Clarion. The title comes from a 1990 song by The Sisters of Mercy.

Though it's a science fantasy novel, it may focus less on action than on the interior lives, secrets, and interactions between the three members of the fictional heavy metal power trio Crowley's Thoth: Morgan Cooper (guitar/bass), Christabel Crowley (violin), and Naomi Bradleigh (vocals/keyboards). None of them know each other as well as they think they do, the secrets they kept eventually drove them apart, and the lies they told themselves became the lies that define them.

I started drafting it for 2020's National Novel Writing Month.
